CROSSINGS
Crossings is a four-day film annual festival during the Vardø (NO) fall, celebrating diverse films in unexpected spaces, from fishing sheds and cabins to unused buildings and outdoor walls. It’s run with volunteers and built from donated films and local spaces. The festival’s ethos is simple: use what’s at hand and use it differently while creating new crossovers. We call it “films & more”, and fill the program with round table talks, workshops, performances and then some. Crossings collaborates with the community to inspire connection and creativity, while our satellite program brings the festival to wider audiences. We want to give everyone who wishes a space in this festival, trying to build it from the ground up. This is also a contribution to show filmmakers and artist some of the amazing resources Varanger has to offer to creatives.
