REMIXED

Remixed was a baking festival in Vardø, celebrating and reviving interest in Vardø’s rich, but commercially inactive, bakery history. The workshops documented historical baking culture and traditions at risk of being forgotten. The project goal was to generate local engagement around food as cultural heritage, gathering and sharing information, while creating new baking ideas, and inspiring future related projects. In two events participants explored the topic through talks, tastings, recipe research and community gatherings. During a two day baking workshop, old recipes were also tested and reinvented with local ingredients, under the guidance of a local chef and baker. Remixed resulted in the production of a recipe booklet.
